The Southside HS Varsity Boys repeated as District Champions and are headed to the Regional meet next week. Varsity boys were led by Rene Hernandez‘s 1st place finish, the boys had all 5 top scorers in the top ten.
Here is the breakdown: 2nd place Nathaniel Rodriguez, 3rd place Matthew Olivarez, 5th place Jaime Villarreal, and 10th place Diego Laredo. The girls placed 3rd ending a three year drought and will be returning to the Regional meet as well. The girls were led by senior Kristina
Berlanga who placed 8th. JV boys also took 1st place scoring a perfect score, they were led by Christian Gutierrez and the JV girls finished 3rd led by Karla Gonzalez.
The Region IV Meet will take place this Saturday October 29 in Corpus Christi, TX starting with the girls race at 10:00 a.m. followed by the boys at 10:30 a.m.
