Google For Education is Here!
Google Apps for Education (GAFE) is now available for all teachers and students in grades K-12 at Southside ISD as a suite of web-based programs providing email, word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, calendaring, research, and collaboration tools for students and teachers. These tools will help prepare and engage our 21st century students. For instructional and administrative purposes, students are automatically given access to Google Apps for Education accounts on the first day of school. In Southside ISD, Google Apps for Education runs on an Internet domain owned by SISD and is intended for educational use only.
As a cloud-based suite, Google Apps for Education will be available at school and at home via the web. School staff will monitor students’ use of Apps when students are at school. Parents are responsible for monitoring their child’s use of Apps when accessing programs from home.
Communications are not considered confidential. Southside ISD reserves the right to access and review content in the Google Apps for Education system at any time. SISD complies with all state and federal privacy laws.
