Southside High School Varsity men and women’s track team performed outstanding at Thursday’s Cardinal Relays Meet. The men’s track team placed 3rd out of 15 schools with 76 team points. The women’s team placed 6th out of 15 schools with 38 points.
Also, several school records were set at the meet. Amanda Esparza set new school records when she ran a 12.33 in the 100m and a 25.58 in the 200m races. Erik Luna set a new Triple Jump record by jumping 44’0. The men’s 4x200m relay team consist of Luis Reyes, Eddie Perez Jr, Erik Luna and Matt Collier also set a new school record by running a 1:32.11.
