[soliloquy id=”1749″]Parents and students in the Southside ISD community have for years expressed a desire for an H-E-B grocery store in the district. The Southside ISD is the only San Antonio school district without a full-service grocery store within its boundaries. In late May, students and parents at Gallardo Elementary and at Southside High School held full-blown pep rallies calling for an H-E-B. The children at Gallardo Elementary even sang, “You can’t spell Texas without H-E-B.” KSAT 12 News was first to report on this issue on June 3, 2013.
