D.A.R.E Cadets Shine at The San Antonio Lighthouse For the Blind

[soliloquy id=”1805″]The Losoya D.A.R.E Cadets ventured off campus to learn more about the San Antonio Lighthouse for the Blind on April 2, 2015.  While they were there learning about this amazing program, these Southside Cardinals presented the non-profit organization with more than three hundred dollars in donations collected from a number of campuses, students, staff and SISD employees.

While being generous, they also got educated. They learned how the non-profit organization helps benefit San Antonio disabled residents. The students also acquired a few leadership skills while they assisted the employees with assembling ball point pens!

The students took turns blindfolding one another and escorted each other around the Lighthouse facility, the lesson helped the cadets get a chance to feel what it is like to have a disability like being blind.  They also learned how to escort a blind person and helped them stay safe.  We are proud of our Losoya D.A.R.E Cadets! Keep up the awesome work!
