The Girls Varsity Soccer team began their 2016-2017 season with a 2-1 victory against Laredo Nixon. Subsequently, the Girls Varsity Soccer team suffered some difficult losses, but were able to learn from mistakes and continued to work hard and win third place at the Edgewood Varsity Girls Soccer Tournament.
The Varsity team is relatively young, being made up of 1 freshman, 12 sophomores, 2 juniors, and 5 seniors. The Girls Varsity Soccer non-district record is 6-7- 1, leading scorers include seniors Nicole Diaz and Patricia Ortiz with 8 goals and 5 goals respectively.
Southside HS first district game will be on Friday, February 10 against Uvalde at Southside High School.
On Friday February 10 be sure to watch the Univsion networks sports show UniMás, our Southside Cardinal Varsity Soccer and Girls Basketball teams will be featured on the 30 minute sports program at 10 P.M. CST
