National Honor Society Students Volunteer at SAFoodBank

On Saturday January 7 Southside HS students from the National Honor Society (NHS) were able to volunteer their time and efforts to help pack meals at the San Antonio Food Bank.

The students prepared over 1,200 boxes, equaling 31,000 meals for the elderly. This preparation of meals is a big help in providing food to hungry families in our communities. Way to go NHS!

The San Antonio Food Bank provides food and grocery products to more than 530 partner agencies in 16 counties throughout Southwest Texas. In FY2015, the San Antonio Food Bank provided nearly 62 million pounds of food. The mission of the SAFB is to fight hunger in Southwest Texas through food distribution, programs, education, and advocacy.
